The American conservative has a Judeo-Christian/enlightenment value system to rely on, which despite its flaws can hold its own in the modern world. This value system with its emphasis on freedom and liberty provides people like Ben Shapiro enough ammunition to take on the likes of Trump. The Indian traditionalist/conservative does not have something quite as good to lean on. At the moment all they have is some sort of hero worship around Modi, cow and populist rhetoric around conversion or terrorism. They are not quite comfortable with the fruits of the enlightenment era, as it is seen as an western import. So what are they going to bring to the table that is useful? Are they going to try and copy China?
