Heera & Ranjha - THE LOVE STORY - part 2

I am going to continue the 2nd part of Heera & Ranjha - THE LOVE STORY

Heera’s parents lost their hope, since she was firm in her decision, they decided to arrange her marriage to another person Saida Khairra.

As per their community rules, the man only marry her if she agreed the proposal by signing the wedding papers.
On the day of the wedding ceremony she was asked by the head of the community whether she accepted or not, She clearly said “no.” Her father, frightened by dishonor, quickly signed the wedding papers anyway.

Heera said that she was already married to Ranjha, with witnesses of god. No one listened to her and she was taken to Saida Khairra’s village.

Poor Ranjha heard about his Heera’s equally bad fortune, he turned in to a monk, he had nothing left to do, He could not bear to think of his Heera in someone’s arms. He was traveling with the monks, went from village to village, begging with a bowl.

One days surprisingly he knocked on Saida’s house. A woman opened the door, it was Heera’s sister-in-law, answered and saw the handsome, young monk. She had already heard about Heera’s love. She also wanted Ranjha to marry Heera. she said her brother was wrong, It was not good as per their community law. And she thought "this is her chance to correct her brother’s follies, she helped Heera escape from her home.

Ranjha and Heer escaped but were caught by the Kings guards. As the king heard their tale and called for a called their parent and head of their community to deal with matters accordingly. It was decided. Heera was taken back to her husband's house.

Ranjha, was angry with the people in that town, cursed them and reminding them that God almighty does not stand for injustice. What a miracle immediately a fire caught up the town, frightening people went to the king, The king seeing the fire upon his land as an act of the God, scared King decided to let Heera and Ranjha marry together.

But Heera's parents could not endure this, they plotted to revenge their insult on the wedding night. To celebrate the ceremony, they sent a plateful of laddu (sweets) laced with poison to the couple. Heera had taken a bite from the sweet laddu and fell down, speechless. Ranjha, realized that the laddu was poisonous, he too took the half-eaten laddu and ate it, fell next to his beloved Heera, both were together joined their death.
