There are three essentials for success in the GD Test are (1) knowledge, (2) fluent expression and (3) leadership and coordinating ability. By and large, the GD Test are conducted as 'leaderless group tasks.' In other words, the examiner does not nominate or appoint anyone as leader, chairman, president, speaker, coordinator, moderator and so on, when the group is asked to discuss a given subject or perform any other set task. Also no hard and fast rules of procedure are prescribed. Generally, it is left to the group to discuss the given subject in the manner it chooses.
