Drama, Emotion, Arguments are few of the things that you would find in an Indian Middle Class Family, without it the family would be incomplete. I too belongs from a middle class family, and have seen and observed many peculiar and interesting things about an Indian Middle Class Family, which can not be see anywhere else.

A Middle-class family are the breakeven between Richer and Poorer. They can be defined as those who are not living an expensive luxurious life, neither they living a meager /begger life. They have enough to lead a simple and happy life The most important lesson one can take out from Indian Middle class is to how to stay happy in a limited resource. Middle class family always stays together no matter what, and I believe there is a hidden science that keep them going.

The daily earner, Father is assumed to be the Finance Minister, wheras Mother who look after household chores assumes the role of Home Minister, children kids are the general public who need to follow on the guidenance policies framed by the Finance minister and Home Minister. If you have more elder person at home, be it Grand father or mother, they are the President/Prime minister of the Middle class Family

There are many petty and small things, that keep the family strings knitted to one another. Here are few of the tradition that are followed even today in many Indian Middle Class Family,There are many lesson from these tradition:

1. Readily available alternative.

Middle class family, keep all the alternative open, to make the best out of everything. Be it using an old cloth for duster, to making an old cup as pen stand. They keep many old rejected items at home, hoping to be used in near future. All gates open welcomed for everything.

2. Future in Mind.

There are many things that the middle class family does , keeping future in mind. Family with siblings are most benefitted, the younger one gets to wear the older one cloth. Exactly....., when there is shopping made, the family always try to keep thing economical, and purchase a size plus in view that it works a little longer, when the such cloth are not fit to the elder one, it will passes to the youngest one.

3. Energy Saviour and Environment Friendly :

A great mascot of energy conservation. Who keep s the lights on or fan??. There is always someone to keep a check on these things. Saving electricity bills is there motto, though by doing this they are helping the environment too by saving energy.

4. Optimum utilisation of Product.

Optimum utilisation of resources, that we have learned in Industrial economics, however the true example of the concept canbe seen in a Middle Class Family. Be it rolling over the toothpaste to squeeze the paste, or mixing the water into shampoo bottle to use it for one last chance or be it putting the large plastic cold drink bottle into fridge to store water. The middle class make effort to use all the product and avoid any wastages

5. Free Gift Satisfaction

Who don't like Gifts ?? Middle class family always thrive to get any gift they can avail and make themselves Happy. Even the grocerry or vegetable shopping wont be completed untill the mother doesnt get free corriander leaves or chillies free for the vegetable purchse. You may notice the satisfaction on her face.

There are many other things, about the middle class Indian Family, that make them closed and keep them happy.

Accomodating in 2 Bedroom or 1 bedroom, Watching TV together, Riding in a 2 wheeler together, Continous story of family genre struggle, Ordering common food even in luxirious restaurants, taking permissions while going out.

The list is long and never ending, Even in life ups and down,Middle class family always ready to help each other out. A unique relationship mix of Experience and youth, where the parents are the guiding force with their experince, and the young have the zeal , to take on the baton and face any situation.

As I too belongs from a Middle Class Family, and have put up few of the Highlights, of what I have observed , in my life as of now. I belive there are many things common too, across the globe and many family family outside India, do follow some of the tradition. Obviously noone born Rich. A wonderful family unit to give children traditions and examples to help them in later life.

We middle class people always find ways to be happy and satisfied in our middle class life.

Less is always better for us...still satisfied

Hahahaha, I agree all you listed in this post

Pretty hard truth of all Indian Middle Family

i can relate myself and my family through your post. i think in a family, parents place an important role.they are like backbone and if your backbone is strong one will never get down.

Agree @sarah-28 it helps us for our betterment

Hmm... I don't have children, but we do have relatives staying with us just now, and it seems to me that in a Scottish middle-class family the teenagers are the bosses. When the teenage son surfaces, around midday, if there's enough noise (otherwise mid-afternoon), he needs to be served breakfast IMMEDIATELY!

lol...that is the most amazing thing to do, Love to hear that @natubat but i think that would be the case with kids...a little bit grown up is good to go

Yes, a little bit grown up... lol! I look forward to that!
