Udaipur known as a city of lakes is the historic capital of the kingdom of mewar in the former Rajputana agency. It is a tourist destination and is known for its history, culture, scenic locations and rajput era palaces. It is known as lakecity because of sophisticated lake system. Some famous lakes are Fatehsagar lake, pichola lake, Swaroop sagar and dudh talai lake. It is also surrounded by beautiful Aravalli hills. It is also given names like Venice of East and Jewel of mewar. It is also near to Jaisamand lake which is second largest artificial lake in Asia. It is also a good destination for shopping point of view and the handicrafts sold here are famous in whole world. The love for city is immense in every udaipurite. The people here eat variety of foods and the most famous one is Daal Batti Churama. The deserts near the city gives it a different climate and importance. I belive what makes udaipur amazing is its brilliant architecture.

I visited Udaipur and Jaipur on my first trip to India in the nineties. Mainly I stayed in Vrindavava though. Govinda temple is my priority.
