Hello Steemit friends,
Saturday was Vijayadashmi in India. It is a festival to celebrate the win of good over bad, holy over evil.
The day has religious significance as this is when Lord Rama killed Ravana for abducting Ma Sita( wife of Lord Rama).
Normal beings celebrate it by burning Ravana statues. The statues are made with fancy papers and lots of fire crackers. Along with Ravana, two of his brothers who were evil are also burnt.
During this ceremony, which takes place at almost every place, from streets to grounds to schools, people gather there and enjoy the sightings.
As i am in my hometown for a few days to celebrate the festive holidays, i went to the nearby celebration of the festival with my brother and clicked the shots.
While Ravana was burning, i had made a video and it got dark, which i will share soon.
