ITANAGAR, August 22: Honesty is the best policy but with time this old adage has faded away. This good samaritian from Arunachal seems to have buck the trend.
A second year student of Don Bosco College, Itanagar, Pobu Kare reportedly found a bag containing Rs 10 lakh, in cash, in the ATM booth in Gohpur Tinali, on August 9. The bag had been left behind by an ATM currency replenishment team of the State Bank of India(SBI).
One Facebook user commented when the news ran viral, ‘Arunachal, of late, has witnessed so many people returning wallets containing cash and important documents, but a bag of Rs 10 lakh is something else. Such a boy should be amply rewarded by the state government.’
SBI officials commended Pobu Kare for his deeds conferring him a cheque of Rs 10,000 in a small function at the bank’s Itanagar branch on August 19 last.
Good deed. We should also appreciate the SBI bank for its nice gesture.
