Six persons including the manager of a gaming parlour were arrested on Saturday for running an online casino in East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area. The accused persons were placing bets online and were promised a handsome amount in case they win.

Kashyap was running an online casino portal under the name of a gaming parlour. The police had received an input regarding an online betting portal being run at one of the gaming houses in the Krishan Kunj area of Laxmi Nagar. The police team deployed sources and the information was found to be true. A raiding team was later sent to the premises and desktops and playing equipment was being used for online bidding.

"The organisers were luring customers, who wanted to play, to place a minimum bid of Rs 1,000 on an online number. If the number was selected then the lucky ones were promised a sum of Rs 36,000. Kashyap had earlier been arrested for running such online bids in the name of a gaming house," said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, East.

The police seized around 15 desktops which were being used for bidding and cash worth Rs 25,200. Investigating officials said that Kashyap wouls organise the games while the other accused men were customers. The arrested accused said that they were unable to financially sustain their lifestyle and hence they indulged in bidding.
