For those who are not aware, there is a surge of scammers right now impersonating U.S. Treasury agents, IRS agents, Justice Department agents, etc. These are scammers who are Indian, from India, and many of them are residing in the United States. They use the phone and computer to target their victims while remaining anonymous. These people are nothing more than parasites. These are enemies of Americans and the American way of life.
They may be very talented con-artists and are capable of faking their accent. There is a conspiracy theory that they are actually employees of a higher authority and they are Indian because Indians are talented and apparently will work for cheap. Who knows? That they are able to get away with these scams ought to be a telling sign of the real level of the power the Government actually has these days to take these people down. These scammers tend to target individuals who are less tech savvy, older individuals, younger individuals, and people who in general fear their government. Sadly, it is often those who do not have much money who end up falling for these scams. These phone scams can largely be prevented by putting your number on the national do not call list. But they can target you other ways as well so be aware.
If you do get scammed don't expect the police, sheriff, FBI or anyone else to care. Are they actually taking these people down? There are several news reports of Indians being arrested for these scams but can we really trust what we read in the news any more? With the high volume of fake news being put out now, it should be assumed that all news is fake these days. Check the sources to confirm if the story is true or not. That the scams are getting more aggressive and realistic should be a sign that the government is not doing all that they should be doing to protect the American people. They seem more interested in convincing us we live on a spinning ball that floats, but that's a topic for another article.
People need to be aware that the real Government, or the real IRS never corresponds using the phone. The actual government will only use the U.S. Postal service to correspond, or they will come arrest you, but they are not going to give you a phone call before they come arrest you.
Now lets see how one of these scams might work. One such scam goes as follows.
The scammer calls and leaves a message that you, the victim, have a warrant out for your arrest, or you are in danger of having a warrant out for your arrest, and you need to call to resolve the matter immediately. This puts legitimate fear into anyone who has ever actually been arrested. If you are not aware of the scam, now you are under an hypnotic spell based on that fear. This is how real hypnosis works and anyone can be put under an hypnotic spell. The spell is broken as soon as you realize that it is a scammer and you simply hang up the phone.
You call the number back. Big Mistake! It sounds like a large call center with lots of workers talking on the phone. This may actually be a sound track. You have to go through many extensions to get the right person. Every person you talk to might be the same person with a different accent. It's just one guy faking his accent like a high school prank. People fall for it though.
Eventually you reach the right person and they tell you that you have back taxes that you owe and you must pay the amount or there will be a warrant issued for your arrest. They tell you that you can not hang up the phone and the connection can not be lost or you will be arrested or a warrant will be issued for your arrest and you will be guilty of non-compliance and resisting, etc. They tell you that the phone call is being recorded to play for the judge to see if you are being compliant and if the call is dropped you will be deemed to be non-compliant. It sounds silly to write about it but if you fall under the hypnosis then you actually think it is real. Whereas, if you were in your right mind you would tell the person to fuck off and drop dead.
They tell you that you have an opportunity to settle the matter if you can pay the amount of back taxes, (usually thousands of dollars!) and they instruct you to go to a Walmart and load gift cards with money and then basically give them the product keys and you have to stay on the line the whole time. They can sound like an actual government employee. They can give you that same feeling that you would have if you were talking to an actual enforcement officer.
These scammers can actually call you and their number will show up as 911. It is still a scam. Don't fall for it.
They are able to transfer the money off of these Walmart or Target gift cards as soon as you give them the keys.
It's a scam that plays off of people's fear of the IRS, or fear of the Government or fear of law enforcement. It's sad that our actual government is so incapable of preventing these scams. Many people will fall for this theft and give away their hard earned money to some soulless alien from across the planet to the tune of thousands of dollars.
Another scam they may try is to hack your computer. They will tell you that it is the Justice Department or some other government agency and you are in violation of something, and you need to go to Walmart or Walgreens and load up a gift card and put in the product key just to make sure that you are compliant. This is a computer virus and not the actual Justice Department.
I am writing this article to warn people that the scams are getting more and more high tech and realistic. It won't be long before we are not able to tell if we are dealing with the real IRS or if we are dealing with scammers. What's to stop the scammers from using the actual U.S. Post for their scams?
Let it be known that the writer of the article could never con someone that way, even if the victim was perceived to be a rich American. It's just wrong to treat people that way whether they are from a rich country or not. These scammers create no value. Though they may be rich their life has no value. They know nothing of value. They are a blemish on society. Though they may justify what they do in their own minds, they are the worst of humanity. They are just thieves, and what goes around comes around.
So these scammers will get what is coming to them, and when everything goes to shit in their life, which it will, they can look in the mirror, if they still have one, and think of all the horrible things they did to their brothers that were left unresolved, and they will be in a very, very poor position indeed.
