Head of National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) Thomas Djamaluddin predicts, the beginning of Ramadan fasting this year will fall on the same date.
In addition, it predicts, Idul Fitri day there will be no difference between the government and other Islamic community organizations.
"The start of Ramadhan and Idul Fitri this year will be uniform, starting on May 17 and Idul Fitri on June 15 (2018)," Thomas said in a short message on Tuesday (05/06/2018).
In fact, said Thomas, until the year 2021, the beginning of Ramadan, Idul Fitri and Eid al-Adha will coincide.
"Insha Allah until 2021 the beginning of Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah will be uniform," said Thomas.
Meanwhile, Head of Bureau of Public Relations, Data and Information of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mastuki said the government has not been able to confirm when the beginning of Ramadan this year.
"We do not know the same or not, because after the Isbat Session, what is the date of Ramadan this year?" he said.
According to Mastuki, the mechanism of determining the beginning of Ramadan through Isbat Session was held by inviting various representatives of Islamic organizations.
"So for the same date or not in the Isbat Session which will set it is unique to the date of 1 Ramadan," said Mastuki.
