Having some years to study about education and to teach older and younger students in some big cities and remote areas (paid and voluntary works) gave me many insights and experiences on how to be a good teacher. A good teacher does not only teach, but also facilitate and educate the students.
I realize there are many things can be done. But, these what I have done so far from my experiences:
Being excited
It must be great when you start teaching by having exciting feeling. It will encourage students to learn deeply about your subject.
Using media
Instead of teaching with lecturing method, using media is awesome tools for helping teacher in teaching and learning process in this digital era
A simple example, I teach students by using short movie. As I see, It enhances students’ eagerness to study and analytic thinking. Another example, when I taught English in one of Private School in Makassar, I used some platforms to practice my students skills in speaking. One of them is Generation Global that will help students to practice English with other students from different countries. The students will also share their thoughts by using that platform. Knowing Students’ stages of development
Being a teacher helps me to understand students’ stages of development. The knowledge will help us to facilitate students. For instance, in teaching students who are in 11 years old, teacher should understand some stages of development. In social area, they love giving argumentation. In language area, they love imitating adults’ words. In cognitive area, they like giving reasons. Therefore, giving many analytical assignments and providing them active participation will be valuable for them. These ways will be different for 7 years old students. So, let’s find out students’ stages of development.
Keep Inspiring
Don’t you believe that teacher can change people’s life? I do believe it. An inspiring teacher will ensure students’ success. Therefore, additional task as a good teacher is to inspire students.

I think that teachers are very very important! I mean, we all learn this at home and it's also so important, but the work that a teacher does it's just bigger since you are the ones who are the major part of the time with the children per day, or at least the productive time ^^
