Hi Anita and welcome aboard. Check out the @minnowsupport it should be a huge help for the beginning. Hang in there and wish you a lot of fun and success. Steem on.
I would first recommend not asking for votes or follows. Many people on Steemit frown on 'begging', and the platform isn't like Instasham, Fakebook, or Twatter, in that the number of followers isn't a metric that is useful in itself.
Engaged followers, who are interested in the content you produce, are good to have, because they will read your posts, and upvote them. Followers that aren't really interested in what you post don't upvote you much.
Steemit is more about blogging than memes, status updates, and pics, although that's just how it's turned out so far. Just post the kind of content you want (make sure to tag it correctly. Since this is a photo, using the photography tag might be a good idea), and on posts by others you find interesting, comment about the post.
This will help you to find other people interested in the kinds of content you post, and like yourself.
Feel free to ask any questions you'd like, and i'll do my best to answer. @dragosroua has several posts that are very helpful to new Steemit users, like yourself. Also, the Minnow Support Project can really be helpful to you. @aggroed is a good source for more information about it, including the Discord chat, where many folks hang out and help newbies.
