Historically gold crafts have existed since the 16th and 17th centuries in the Acehnese society (when the kings of Aceh's reigns) and continue to grow to this day.In 1935 an Acehnese craftsman named Mahmud Ibrahim or better known as Utoh Mud (the name for crafters), made a gold jewelry called Pinto Aceh.

Started from the Dutch officer who was the commander during his reign in koetaradja (Banda Aceh now). From his desire to reward something for his wife, after searching he found pinto khop, the monument of Sultan Iskandar Muda's royal heritage.
in the form of functional objects in the form of jewelry, then dihanggillah a gold craftsman who has the ability to make it. Mahmud Ibrahim was asked to make the jewelry by taking the form of kho pinto. The election of Mahmud Ibrahim is very reasonable, this is because the high-ranking officials who existed at that time had known Mahmud Ibrahim as a crafter of gold and silver. All because of his expertise in making jewelry in an exhibition held at the night market event held in the field koetaradja (BandaAceh). Craftsmen of gold and silver at that time had the opportunity to show their ability in making jewelry. After the ceremony was completed, the award was awarded one of the artisans in the form of certificate, by the night market executing committee given to Mahmud Ibrahim (Utoh Mud) in 1926 in Koetaradja.

Utoh Mud, who pocketed the prestigious certificate of his skills, in 1935 tested his creativity as Utoh (goldsmith) famous for creating new jewelry Pinto Aceh whose motif was taken from the building of Pinto Khop is a small gate where empress Sultan Iskandar Muda exit into the river bank to bathe in past centuries. At that time Utoh Mud made one type of jewelry in the form of female chest jewelry that is brooch. Previously brooch type already exist in traditional jewelry network of Aceh, but by taking other motif. Bros Pinto Aceh by imitating the gate named Pinto Khop is slim with bars graced with a flower motif plus more as a complement with tassels along both sides.
