Six districts have been experiencing drought since last month in Aceh Province. The six districts are Bireun, North Aceh, Lhokseumawe, Bener Meriah, East Aceh and Langsa.

The Sultan of Malikussaleh Airport, North Aceh, Kharendra Muiz Airport, Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said on Thursday (15/2/2018) the results of satellite image monitoring in six districts did not fall during the last month. "Specifically, the area lasts not more than a month in the Matangkuli District and Nibong District, North Aceh District. The two sub-districts are suffering from drought, "said Kharendra.

He explained that based on satellite imagery there was no formation of convektive clouds or rain clouds in the district. In addition, continued Kharendra, the heat conditions are very stinging, because the area is highly irradiated because it is not closed clouds and the air temperature reaches 32 - 33 degrees Celsius.

"We predict up to 10 days ahead of the weather still bright and hot sting. He urged special farmers with rainfed irrigation system to immediately prepare water resources for rice fields. Our predictions for the next two weeks have not yet rained, "he concluded.

INDONESIA-Enam Kabupaten Kemarau

Sebanyak enam kabupaten mengalami kekeringan sejak sebulan terakhir di Provinsi Aceh. Keenam kabupaten itu yakni Kabupaten Bireun, Aceh Utara, Lhokseumawe, Bener Meriah, Aceh Timur dan Kota Langsa.

Prakirawan Badan Metreologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Kantor Bandara Sultan Malikussaleh, Aceh Utara, Kharendra Muiz, Kamis (15/2/2018) menyebutkan hasil pantauan citra satelit di enam kabupaten itu tidak turun hujan sebulan terakhir. “Secara spesifik wilayah paling lama sebulan lebih tidak turun hujan itu di Kecamatan Matangkuli dan Kecamatan Nibong, Kabupaten Aceh Utara. Dua kecamatan itu terparah mengalami kemarau,” sebut Kharendra.

Dia menjelaskan berdasarkan citra satelit tidak ada pembentukan awan konvektif atau awan penghujan di kabupaten tersebut. Selain itu, sambung Kharendra, kondisi panas sangat menyengat, karena penyinaran kawasan sangat maksimal karena tidak tertutup awan dan suhu udara mencapai 32 - 33 derajat selsius.

“Kita prediksi hingga 10 hari kedepan cuaca masih cerah dan panas menyengat. Dia mengimbau khusus petani dengan sistem pengairan tadah hujan segera mempersiapkan sumber air untuk areal persawahan. Prediksi kami dua pekan ke depan belum turun hujan,” pungkasnya.
