Timpan is a typical Indonesian food originating from Aceh, Indonesia's westernmost province. This food is made from glutinous rice flour mixed with coconut milk. Then wrapped in young banana leaves filled with grated coconut that had previously been cooked with a mixture of white sugar or with other contents such as srikaya, then steamed until cooked. This food is usually served on a big day like Eid or at a wedding party or other parties. Timpan is very famous and usually made gifts for relatives who come from other provinces.
