In Pakpak society culture there is a musical ensemble known as Drum-chime drum, which is nine pieces of one-sided drum that is placed in a rack that is beaten by using a stick (hammer).

Lobat and serdam (end-blown flute) is an instrument solo though it is sometimes used in music ensembles. Ordinary lobat also blown someone who performs merkemenjen activities (tapping the sap of incense) and singing about the complaints of life. This song is called odhong-odhong.

Odhong-odhong is sung on a tree, or a jungle chant. Serdam is usually used by someone to let go of tired when mermakan (grazing cattle pasture).
