Budaya membaca, jauh panggang dari api!

Budaya membaca mahasiswa di Indonesia, jauh panggang dari api - Gimana mau matang. Mahasiswa di luar negeri rajin baca buku, bahkan rata-rata mahasiswa di luar negeri membaca 1-2 buku per minggunya.

Prinsipnya, kalau mau jadi sarjana harus baca ribuan buku. Well .. di Indonesia, kalau mau jadi sarjana gak perlu baca buku.

Mahasiswa di luar negeri sangat jarang yang tahu apa itu Path, Instagram, Twitter dan beberapa jajaran Social Media lainnya, yang hampir semua Mahasiswa di Indonesia merasa gak PD kalau gak punya.

Buat Mereka, terlalu membuang-buang waktu untuk mengetahui apa yang orang lain lakukan. Itu juga yang membuat mereka mempunyai lebih banyak waktu membaca buku atau berdiskusi mengenai aliran pemikiran mereka terkait dengan berbagai topik.

Hal ini lebih terkait ke budaya mereka, yang terkesan individual. Well.. ada plus minusnya juga.

Kerja part time. Malu kah mereka?

Sebagian besar Mahasiswa Indonesia itu gengsinya segede gaban. Gak mau kerja ini, kerja itu. Maunya kerja yang ini, yang itu. Pilah pilih ini itu. Well, di luar negeri kebanyakan mahasiswa kerja part-time, dan gak pilah pilih, juga gak jadi penilaian dari mahasiswa lainnya mengenai pekerjaan orang lain.

Mulai pelayan restoran, kasir Dept Store, Pegawai pom bensin, penulis, banyaklah.. yang waktunya mereka bisa bagi dengan perkuliahan. Kerja gak membuat mereka geng si yang Guys, buat mereka lebih gensi itu kalau minta duit sama orang tua.

Sebagian besar kampus di Luar Negeri, gak ada sistem absensi

Kebayang gak sih kalau di Indonesia gak pake sistem Absensi. Apa kelasnya masih penuh? Beberapa Kampus di luar negeri gak pake sistem absensi ya guys, ini karena Mahasiswa disana sudah sangat sadar mengenai pentingnya belajar.

Jadi gak ada absensi pun mereka tetap datang, Yap mereka tetap hadir mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas. Yang penting akumulasi tugas dan ujiannya bagus, itu udah bisa naik ke semester berikutnya. Gak da sangkut pautnya dengan kehadiran. Pola pikir dan kebiasaan yang benar-benar patut di contoh ya guys.

Kemampuan nomor 1, penampilan nomor sekian.

Yang dimaksudkan disini mengenai prioritas keuangan mereka ya Guys,, kebanyakan dari mahasiswa luar negeri lebih mengutamakan prioritas pemanfaatan keuangan mereka untuk keperluan kuliah, nah setelah kebutuhan kuliah udah kelar semuanya, baru deh mikirin “hari ini shopping kemana ya ?”.

Kalau di compare dengan gaya hidup mahasiswa di Indonesia, sebagian besar (gak semuanya kok) lebih mengutamakan belanja keperluan ini itu, untuk sekedar memenuhi trend gaya hidup. Beli Handphone, ok !. Beli buku ? Mikir dulu kali ya

Party at the time, Study in the moment.

Pada saat belajar, ya belajar. Pada saat party, ya party. Ini salah satu budaya Mahasiswa di beberapa Negara maju.

Mereka tetap party, tapi kuliah tetap masih jadi prioritas. Intinya, semua dilakukan pada waktu dan tempatnya. Bukan karena ngikutin gaya hidup, party sana sini, kuliah jadi keteteran.

Tetap ke kampus, walaupun gak ada dosen.

Mahasiswa di luar negeri, mereka sangat concern dengan study mereka. Hal ini disebabkan oleh banyaknya tugas dan budaya belajar di perpustakaan serta persaingan yang sangat ketat. Oleh karena itu, walaupun gak ada jadwal kuliah mereka tetap datang ke kampus.

Kalau Mahasiswa di Negara kita gimana ? sebagian besar (sekali lagi, gak semuanya kok) ke kampus kalau ada jadwal kuliah, kalau gak ada ya gak juga.

Bagaimana? Sudah tahu kan sekarang perbedaanya, cukup mengejutkan ya. Silahkan Anda mengambil bagian positifnya dan membuang bagian negatifnya, semoga mahasiswa Indonesia menjadi lebih baik lagi ya.
