Disinformation And Misinformation

So the thing here is that there's an important distinction between disinformation and misinformation

a physician giving their patient false information, and not in a case where they did make a legitimate mistake on say something that isnt well understood yet, is disinformation, not misinformation.

Misinformation is ultimately a mistake, it may be spread intentionally, but it's fundamentally a product of either someone being uninformed or of a particular topic not being well fleshed out.

Misinformation is not a mistake, but instead a willful and malicious act of spreading false information to the detriment of others, it is fundamentally an act of fraud.

I think medical disinformation is a valid thing to punish, as that falls under fraud and malpractice, but misinformation requires a much more deft hand to deal with, and the government has never been particularly deft with things like this,

and also i genuinely do not trust the public and especially not the government with identifying disinformation and misinformation.
