Tickets of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 bolivars will enter circulation
President Nicolás Maduro announced the reconversion of the monetary cone, which implies the elimination of three zeroes to the currency.
As of Monday, June 4, the notes and coins of the new monetary cone in the country will enter into circulation, consisting of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 bolivars notes. In addition, the coins of 1 bolívar and 50 cents will enter into circulation.
"For the month of June we will demonetize the current monetary cone for the new cone: the sovereign bolivar," he said during his speech.
The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) published, through its Twitter account, official images of the notes and coins of the new monetary cone.
