The nice thing about steemit is the community atmosphere, and the willingness of people to help people when the need is there. IFC is one of those communities, I was fortunate in that I never face booked, I did hear lots of horror stories from my wife and stories she relayed about friends, and well stories from MSM. At IFC, people seem to actually like competing and there is no pressure to do it.
