Schrodinger’s False Accuser is not about “all women destroy men's reputations”.
It is not even about “all women are potential false accusers.” All women are, in fact, potential false accusers, in much the same sense as all men are potential false accusers, and all brunettes are potential reputation wreckers. All people are potential reputation wreckers, because false accusation is not a function of anything about a person except the fact that they falsely accuse people.
It is not remotely about thinking rape and reputation destruction as somehow equivalent. The comparison is useless because killed or overkilled the victim is still dead. Both are bad and no need to be equally bad to talk about why. There is no justification for dismissing false accusations as acceptable collateral damage 'cos Schodinger's False Accuser is about the way to act under the fear of a false accusation. Whether justified or not the fear is a driver in men modifying their behaviour in ways counterproductive to gender equality.
It is about “a very significant proportion of men will, when thinking about working with you, be assessing whether you are going to be That Asshole, and it is in your best interest to ensure their conclusion is not that you are.”
That Asshole makes up only a tiny percentage of women. However, she has poisoned the well for everyone else.
I think a lot of women underestimate the fear most men have around having their reputation destroyed and their career ruined. For instance, we men pride ourselves on providing financially and socially for our families. Even a future family. A false accusation will reduce financial and social opportunities for the spouses and children of the falsely accused.
Little wonder why men are going their own way.
