The Curious rise of UBI from a very unlikely suspect. ITALY.

Many of you will be unaware of the realities unfolding within in the EU let alone Italy.

Interesting.

Is the way I am viewing Italian politics right now, as a shift is happening worldwide - due to the fact people seem to have woken up to the notion that a two party system can no longer work, it always was impossible to play the two party game, and now the scramble begins to replace it with what at least on the surface "appears" to be more choice.

Enter centre stage and the unknown (until now) M5S or 5 star movement as they are called in long form.
Let us see what managed to get this unknown entity a 32.6% majority vote, though before I do I would like to explain why I call them unknown. Well you see they have no identity as yet, they are neither left nor right, neither conservative nor liberal, they are straight down the middle, what ever the middle is.

Policies.

  • Tax cuts. (for all not just corporations)
  • A basic income (UBI) for all poor people. (Absolute poverty level 7.9% of the population, poverty up to 33% depending on source) 1 source here
  • And slashing the power of the Italian legislature. (making government smaller like the libertarians want to do in the USA)

I have yet to see the system model they propose for funding this 33% of the population, you can be sure though the EU will not like this idea of poverty relief for the unwashed masses, and will do anything it can to stand in the way of this idea, including imposing massive fines on a daily basis.
Interestingly to me at least, is the fact the leader of this 5 star party one Luigi Di Maio has "never" had a job in his entire adult life, seriously. This man of zero past employment is now a Politician, not just any politician, he runs a whole country now, or will do very shortly.

The debt level in Italy like Greece is massive and stands at 132 per cent of GDP, which again raises the question of where is the money going to come from to fund this fairytale UBI? The age to be able to retire and receive a pension had been raised to 66 though is now going to be restored to a lower figure it would seem, though crunching figures on the proposals of a UBI and pension age lowering = spending of $80-100 billion more per year.

The government will be a coalition due to no clear majority, and both leaders (Di Maio and Salvini ) are staunch anti EU. Which will further divide them from the EU, they also want to cancel a 250 billion Euro debt to said EU. The only way I see this going is with Italexit from the EU Great Britain style "brexit".

Whilst we are on the subject of the EU.

I thought I would let you know how much they like spending other peoples money themselves.
Every month in the EU, the offices that are in Brussels are moved to Strasbourg , everything is moved including filing cabinets, computers and staff, this costs 114 million Euros per year, yes you read that correct, 114 million euros just to move offices for a few days, why? Enter the stage France, the French are the beneficiaries of this, as they are the country that ships all this equipment every month, and just like the UN and other organisations, the EU is minority rules - not majority, so every time a vote is taken to stop this madness and use only the Brussels site, France vetoes it. So it continues year upon year.
Allow me to give you some sources in case you would like to check my facts =

I can go 1 better than this and also offer you a short video below.

I sit here in Poland and watch this madness unfold.

The Polish are also very anti EU, as it seems are Hungary and the Czech republic. I see it as only a matter of time before it crumbles into dust and is consigned to the history books as "not good enough" and that time is sooner than most people think.
I will drop a few more sources at the end for the curious of mind.

Have a perfectly pleasant weekend, and may it be fun all the way, what ever you choose to do.

As always any thoughts or comments are most welcome below.

Sort:

Italy is actually one of the few countries that goes about their existing system so ridiculously, that universal basic income (actual UBI too, not an income-means tested flat benefit for those who qualify as being poor) could be done in a revenue neutral way by cashing out existing programs and also existing expenditures for the top 20% which are currently about 4x the amount given to the bottom 20%.

Our Purpose

Interesting times for Italy. I see high on their list of things to do is more police and more prisons. For the migrant round up, so they say.

Berlusconi must of done his short time and is butting in again. And smooching up to Russia.

Luigi has had a job. A steward at a football stadium. haha

Thanks for alerting me to this current theatre.

LOL a steward watching footie for free, more than welcome my friend, have a great weekend also.

It astounds me that they always find something new to screw up which ends up costing us tons of money. If this where free-market capitalism, the EU would have gone bust a long time ago.

The quicker everyone leaves the European Union, the better.

I agree 100% Though the obstacle is euro mp's as they all take over 1 million euros a year in pay, and have limitless expense accounts, as in they do not have to even present a receipt, they just pick a number and get it paid. Getting past these "unelected" people is the obstacle we all face.

The E.U we all know @deliberator is a disgraceful and politically corrupt organisation ans needs to go, problem is how ? Brexit looks seriously like it will never happen or it might but by that time it will make no difference and ther damage will already be done !

I agree in that Brexit may never happen due to them taking the decision last month was it? to extend the transition with a "endless" timeline, and we all know why, like I said above to Mike, euro mp's British included are raking in endless amounts of unaccounted for "cash".

The EU was the cabals "wet dream" and gran plan to eventually consolidate the whole of the world into regions and eventually a one world government. Now I am not opposed to a one world government if it is truly done for the people by the people. But obviously this is not the goal in the current paradigm.

You are right, the EU will crumble and with it all the NWO goals with it!
