Very nice post and interesting subject!
I can only second all the red flags that you've raised! Nothing to add for me so far only this... there's a significant difference between biometrics and conventional authentication means! Every other authentication method changes over time bur your biometrics don't change! Once in the wrong hands your electronic identity is breached forever! This adds to the general risk of manipulation and misuse of virtual identities therefor I would be extremely cautious using my biometric's for any kind of web authentication system/service.
With data breaches it's like... the big one's that have already happened and the bigger ones still to come.
Remember...even if the attack vectors and perimeters are covered/protected (as good as possible or financially feasible) by a service provider your own interaction point can be compromised.
If you willingly put your biometrics into a database or blockchain your simply asking to be pwned in the future!
@crypto.piotr Thanks for pointing this article out to me!
Exactly. Once your biometrics find their way into system, you're pretty much f$#&ed. Mark of the beast.
Thanks for the re-steem!
My pleasure!
Brilliant comment!
