The facts are this: COVID-19 is a real disease that sickens some, proves fatal to others, mostly the elderly — and does nothing to the vast majority.
That’s it.
In fact, COVID-19 will go down as one of the political world’s biggest, most shamefully overblown, overhyped, overly and irrationally inflated and outright deceptively flawed responses to a health matter in American history, one that was carried largely on the lips of medical professionals who have no business running a national economy or government.
The inconvenient facts that derail the pandemic-narrative become memory-holed. Let's revisit the latest statistics, facts and relevant data that showcase this fact. Thankfully our dear friend @kennyskitchen (please check out his article for more relevant information) compiled this information for us:
- Los Angeles County (CA): "That estimate is 28 to 55 times higher than the 7,994 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported to the county by the time of the study in early April."
- Santa Clara County (CA): "These prevalence estimates represent a range between 48,000 and 81,000 people infected in Santa Clara County by early April, 50-85-fold more than the number of confirmed cases."
- Robbio in Lombardy (Italy): "If confirmed, on a Lombard scale, it would mean that 2.2 million citizens have had or still have the virus with few or without even a symptom. Definitely more than the approximately 61,000 registered. It would also mean 11 thousand deaths out of 2.2 million cases, even if we wanted to round up to 15 thousand we are at a mortality rate in the Region below 0.7%." (translated from Italian)"
- New York State: "With more than 19.4 million people residents, according to U.S. Census data, the preliminary results indicate that at least 2.7 million New Yorkers have been infected with Covid-19."
- Miami-Dade County (FL): "About 6 percent of Miami-Dade’s population — about 165,000 residents — have antibodies indicating a past infection by the novel coronavirus, dwarfing the state health department’s tally of about 10,600 cases"
"Laredo Police Arrest Women Offering Beauty Services in Sting Operation"
According to multiple local reports, two women in Laredo were arrested in separate instances for violating emergency coronavirus orders from the city by soliciting nail and eyelash services.
Laredo Police Department (April 27th, 2020) reportedly received tips of the two women soliciting business on social media through the department’s mobile application, which has an option on the tip form particularly for violations of the special COVID-19 order."

“We remind the community that there is an emergency management plan in place in order to control the spread of the novel COVID-19 virus. Laredo police officers continue to address violations of the order with enforcement,” the police reportedly stated.
“...these directives are not requests but are orders.” -Council Member George Altgelt
"Both of the violators independently solicited customers via social media," the department told the Laredo Morning Times. "On both cases, an undercover officer working on the COVID-19 task force enforcement detail made contact with each solicitor to set up an appointment for a cosmetic, beauty service that is prohibited under the emergency ordinance." Police posing as customers then arrested both women in their homes. (Reason.com)
Both women were charged with a Class B misdemeanor, which comes with a maximum potential penalty of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. The two women were released on $500 personal recognizance bonds.
On March 31st's council meeting, the City of Laredo's Council members' discussed the Governors' executive order to close "non-essential" businesses such as: “barbershops, hair, nail, tanning and skincare salons, [and] any other beauty servicing business.” The general sentiment from the council was that immediate action must be taken. Council Member George Altgelt expressed that high fines were necessary so people would take this event seriously. Fellow council member Mercurio Martinez..."contended that especially with the loss of jobs amidst the lockdown, some people can barely afford a $50 dollar fine."
Council Members such as George Altgelt explicitly stated his support for more hefty fines to be immediately imposed. He also expressed his criticism of City Staff members who had disregarded the social distancing guidelines. Meanwhile, the Laredo Police Department Chief Claudio Treviño, dutifully acknowledge it will support, 'whatever council directive is given..." Previously..."Chief Treviño reported that the Police Department visited over 1,700 businesses since March 18, including restaurants and convenience stores selling food."
In essence, the City of Laredo rushed to stay ahead of Governors Gregg Abbot's executive order by being the first city in Texas to institute fines for not wearing face mask. Laredo has stayed ahead of the curb in enforcing tyranny in the state of Texas; a state popularly known for its rugged-individualism

LAREDO — The City Council has enacted some of the toughest restrictions in the state in response to the coronavirus pandemic, ordering the malls to shut down and restricting public and private gatherings to no more than 10 people.
After languishing in a month long economic lock-down some individuals are breaking the law to make a living. As highlighted in the Council Meeting people are already struggling and some can even afford a petty $50 dollar fine.
Concerned about their personal livelihood & personal freedom people voiced their opposition to the draconian measure:
In hindsight, the rush to implement immediate political action can be somewhat excusable. In the sense that the public & politicians were both caught unprepared by a potential pandemic. However, as I've reported, the latest information & studies do not support the governments solution to lock away healthy individuals and close down the private economy. Instead, the theater of fear has obfuscated people's common sense, and ultimately exposed a folly in people during this political crisis.
People have turned against their neighbor because of their fear. Fellow Laredoeans reported their neighbor to the Police, because they exercised their natural rights. There is no meaningful, rational justification based on the new information that supports this draconian measures. Tyranny is Tyranny. Officers who unquestionably follow any edict given by the Laredo City Council is nothing new. The local politicians that are misinformed but stay the course despite the facts..is nothing new either. People openly embracing an Orwellian culture out of existential fear...that is the virus we should all fear.

It's very likely that most people who are susceptible to infection have already been infected.

It's well past time to open the world economy and get going on rebuilding what has been unnecessarily broken by our betters forcing us to hide in our homes for the last few months.

A culture of corruption is taking root in people's souls...
You note a few places that people are breaking the "law", is it a law in Texas that was broken? I don't know Texas laws, but I have seen people actually demand to be told the law they were breaking, in some cases after a confrontation the law enforcement walked away.
I am also not sure what the authority "orders" from the Governor have. Considering that there are many times mandatory evacuation orders given from a Governor during hurricanes and most always there are people that choose not to leave. This choice is most often accompanied with the notice that there will be no public safety services available for them.
Perhaps the Michigan approach is overdue.
Thank you for asking for specifics on this case. Their "crime" was..."going against the mayoral decree currently in place," police stated" I agree with you that the governor does not have the proper authority to close down the private economy. I've reported several stories in Laredo, Texas and the main issue with the citizenry is their unquestioning obedience to authority and personal ignorance of civil liberties.
Usually, cases such as this one are cheered on by the local population. Rarely, do police officers get questioned over their abused of power. In the City Council meetings the council members were adamant about hefty fines, so that way people didn't question that stay at home order. The police were ready to follow any order. From the reports I've gotten from the locals they are going out of their way to inspect non-essential businesses to make sure they are closed. The perception of law & safety keeps people from challenging them. I had a friend who lives down there and runs a business. He told me that after the lockdown he tried to open shop to people who volunteered to break the lock-down. He has to hide his business' operation from the police. They sometimes come by and peer into his' gyms' windows to make sure they are not "breaking the law." The color of law is what shields them from any repercussions.
