Yeah, there are a lot of problems with steemit in the last few days. I've had similar problems. Both links work fine (just double checked), it's just the time out and slowness of network.
What you need to do though, is go to the first link, find my comment in the thread, and reply with the same line as you have above. Your comment needs to be seen by the account that is running the initiative (not me lol) If you have any problems, just reply again and we'll get it sorted!
I was happy to see that you met my friend @amariespeaks, who included you in the #newbieresteem newsletter...very cool!
