The 17-year-old has parasites more than seven centimeters long within the skin that cause a lot of pain and has had to be treated with four drugs that have cost more than one thousand euros.
A trip to a Florida beach has left a teenager with painful hookworms infections in the feet, a type of parasite, according to medical reports.
Michael Dumas, 17, was on a missionary trip last month to Pompano Beach, where he and other teenagers spent a day relaxing and enjoying the sun, as his mother explained through Facebook. While on the beach, Michael was buried by his friends in the sand , where he was infested with parasitic worms. "He was buried in the sand for fun and has become our nightmare," explains the woman.
The teenager developed painful and itchy eruptions shortly after the visit to the beach, so he went to the doctor, who diagnosed that he had multiple hookworms living under his skin, including one over 7 centimeters long.
According to his mother, the child has had to be treated with four different drugs for which he has had to pay more than a thousand euros. " Never let them bury you in the sand or let your children be!" warns Kelli after explaining the story.
