The Most Idiotic Subscription Service i have seen

There are plenty of subscription services out there and honestly these past few years you could literally see that everywhere. To give you an example, there is a local website and startup let's say that is basically the in-between among companies that sell stuff and people. So you can just go there and search for a product, and you will then see the products from all the available sellers. Thus, you can compare prices, find the best one then order it and the company will deliver.

Now the subscription service that they decided on is to pay a certain amount per month or a year and as a result, you gain free shipping which to be honest if you use the website and application often, you can save some money. If not you lose.

So let's now talk about the most idiotic Subscription Service that i have seen. In Greece there are let's say 3 main applications for food delivery with one of them basically ruling. So the logic is similar to most of food delivery apps but look what they've done.

First of all, after they managed to take the bigger piece of the pie with most businesses having a profile there and using their own delivery men, they started adding extra charges based on the distance. For example, and the numbers i will present are real, 2 years ago using the same application ordering from a restaurant that is 10-12 minutes from my home by car/bike with the delivery guys of the application i would pay only for my order and nothing more.

1 year ago they decided to add an extra fee for their services of 1.5 euros. A couple of months ago they increased that to 3.25 euros. So basically i will have to pay 3.25 euros for them to bring me food over, something that wasn't only free a while back from the same guys but even before that the restaurants had their own stuff that would deliver it for free as well.

A couple of weeks ago i understood why all this happened. The company behind the application/delivery men decided to create a subscription service where we will basically pay a monthly or yearly amount to have free delivery costs, something that WE LITERALLY HAD SINCE I WAS BORN.

In order words, there is basically the option to pay the guys to bring you the food adding more cost to your total order or paying a subscription to avoid these costs which basically is nonsense expect i don't know if you order daily. Since i saw that and realized how they are taking advantage of us creating new problems literally out of nowhere especially when the rankings in terms of people's finances in Greece is at the bottom in EU, i decided to delete the app and in general order less.
