Milliefest Festival - Small Town USA

Heading Home...

On the way home tonight, we drove past the local event venue, and to our surprise, there was a small festival going! Being newly local to the area, my wife and I make an effort to go to things like this and get to know our community, even when we don't have any money, like today.

Petting Zoo...

When we got parked, one of the first things we noticed was a small petting zoo. Of course, Nancy went right to the animals, and me being me, I struck up a conversation with the owner about licensing, regulation, and the business side of things. We talked for a while and exchanged information while Nancy got to meet a baby kangaroo!

Vendors, Vendors, Vendors!!!

There was a long aisle of vendors, all small local people, and a lot of homesteading types of businesses. Nancy and I spoke to a few people about what we're doing and our ideas, and overall, it was a really cool event.

Food!

They had a line of food trucks, and if we hadn't had four dollars to our name, we would have gotten something! It all smelled so great!

They also had a live music act, and I got a video of them. They were "patriotic rappers," and they were actually pretty good! I'm going to upload the video to 3Speak when I've got signal.

Now we're back home eating chicken wraps... and I'm thinking about those food trucks!

As always, Thank you for reading!
