What happens when you free-range chickens?
One thing guaranteed to happen is you're going to find eggs in various places other than the nesting box in your coop. But I was rather surprised today when I flipped over a wheelbarrow we had over some straw to find over a dozen eggs!
Thankfully...
We had just used that straw for bedding three days ago, so we knew the eggs were fresh, we have 12 hens and it's been cold enough here that I'm not worried about them being spoiled. So into the carton they go!
Ahhhh, life on the homestead.
Here come the omelets..
