So another challenging subject from @steemflow for the Innervoice Contest 2, I encourage everyone to participate and share their views. @steemflow himself presented his nice view in this post. So here are my views :
The very first thing that comes to my mind when we are talking of Sexual Abuse is the direction of law in this regard. The law states that the anonymity of the victim must always be maintained, to keep the dignity of the victim and thus prevent from further mental torture. However, often its seen that Media has its own stand on how they should present the matter to the public. Though I have seen some occurrences where they hide the actual footage of the victim , but the circumstantial footage are enough to expose the victim's identity in the vicinity. And they do this to highlight their coverage or their channel in the public , so that it can attract more visitors.
But then as said, is there any agency which discourages this and brings to legal challenges ? No, because all the agencies are themselves fear to fight with the media, because they fear that the media may hunt them to expose some of their wrong doings as well. And I would not like to talk about the Superstars trolls , because that's all high drama, and nothing else.
So where lies the origin of this problem then ?
In my opinion it lies in two places : The first problem is in our Culture , we have not been able to build a society with great culture where women are respected. Every house has women, every criminal has a mother, if not have a sister or wife. If the person would have been nurtured in a culture to respect women from childhood, then they would never do such crime. Its only people who come from a hatred culture, can think of such brutal crime and commit them.
And the second place is to allow media to do anything in the name of Freedom. Yes, today Media has every rights to do anything they want to do. Such is the height that they have gained. You will see in streets, many people put stickers in their vehicles saying PRESS. As if they have borne rights to do anything when they are PRESS. Is there a law enforcing agency which actually validates if they are even actual press or if they are working within the legal guidelines ? Obviously No, because the law making agencies themselves are now pets of media. This should stop. The law enforcing agencies must prevent abuse of media.
So why I am not talking of law enforcing agencies (police) prevent the crime itself ? Simply because its impossible. The government can never recruit sufficient police to protect everyone from a crime. But a society with great culture can...
So how do we build such a society ? Its not easy, but its not difficult to start as well. Start with your own family and friends. Up-bring the culture around your family , relatives to teach kids to respect women, on a continuous basis. Inspire your friends to do the same. And I am sure, this will have a positive impact.

I'm late to this post, but I think about this a lot. I think about culture in general a lot. How can we build that culture... As you said , the best and most solid answer is within your circle. That kind of culture is enduring. I believe wholeheartedly that if you show people what true respect, love, friendship, family, kindness etc are, then that seed never dies. That is why the general culture teaches values that we obviously don't follow as a whole. We know what it could be like, and we know it is better than what currently is. I read a lot of history/anthropology when i come across it, and I can see examples of cultural experiments that have failed, still looking for the successful ones so we can try and repeat that :)
Like always your voice stunned me with great learning now also @sanmi!
