Years ago, on a stormy night, an elderly man and his wife entered a small hotel lobby in Philadelphia. Trying to avoid the rain, the couple approached the reception desk to get a place to spend the night.

"Can you give us a room here?" Asked the husband.

The waiter, a friendly man with a smile looked at the couple and explained that there were three convention events in town.

"All our rooms are full," the waiter said. "But I can not send a good pair like you went out in the rain at one o'clock in the morning. Maybe you want to sleep in my room? Not very good, but enough to make you sleep comfortably tonight. "

When the couple hesitated, the young servant persuaded. "Do not worry about me. I'll be fine, "the waiter said. Eventually the couple agreed.

When the morning of the bill was paid, the old man said to the waiter, "You are like a good manager who should be the best hotel owner in America. Maybe one day I will build a hotel for you. "The waiter looked at them and smiled. The three of them laughed. As the couple is on their way away, the old couple agrees that this helpful waiter is really a rare one, finding someone friendly and helpful is not an easy thing.

Two years passed. The servant almost forgot about the incident when he received a letter from the old man. The letter reminded him of a stormy night and accompanied by a round-trip ticket to New York, asking the young man to visit the elderly couple. The old man met him in New York, and took him to the corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. He pointed to a magnificent new building there, a palace with a reddish stone, with towers rising into the sky.

"That," said the old man, "is the hotel I just built for you to manage."

"You must be joking," replied the young man.

"I assure you, I do not," said the old man, with a big smile.

The name of the old man is William Waldorf Astor, and the magnificent structure of the building is the original form of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

The young man who later became the first manager was George C. Boldt. This young servant will never forget the incident that took him to become manager of one of the most prestigious hotel chains in the world.

Thank you and warm regards to you !!!
