I actually ventured into painting yesterday, painting is something have always wanted to do, but never had the opportunity. Yesterday, I overheard my neighbour conversating with a painter on phone(which actually didn't turn out well for him because of the price). I walked up to him later that day, this is how I conversation went.
Me: Gee, what up? I hear u de talk price with painter for phone? U wan paint your room?
Jerry: Ma guy, yeah o.. My bae birthday na next week, so I just wan throw small house party give am. So, I need paint the room so I co get small rep.(reputation)
Me: Am like, "Gee, just buy paint, I co help you do the painting" you fit pay me if u like my work, but for sure u co like am".
Jerry: Ah! U sabi paint? You Don do am before?
Me: No bruv, but believe me, I will do a neat work for you.
Jerry: okay man.. I will buy the paints, u'll start this afternoon.
Me: No pee man.
No, I didn't care about the money because its the opportunity have always been looking for, I had to go around looking for who to borrow painting tools from, and I found them.
Trust me, I wouldn't wanna mess up, I pictured the how I was gonna do it on my mind, and successfully brought it out to the wall, tho it's not as perfect as that of the mind. LOL
I did it as if my life depended on it.
What am I trying to say after all the stories?
Ans: Believe in yourself self, don't say because it's my first time, I won't do it well. Trust your instincts. Put yourself out there, and be ok with not knowing if people will accept you.
I may not be a good writer, but just know all am trying to say is believe in yourself, you will find yourself succeeding.
