Hello fellow steemians, welcome to day #2 of my 30 days series "Female And More: Inspiring Women To Pursue Their Highest Potentials."
Today, I'm going to be talking about a bold and daring womanwho didn't allow her condition to be a setback, Amina Slaoui.
Amina, from Morocco, was a successful communications executive, a mother of four children who had a great life going. However, on one occasion during a holiday trip she had an accident and was confined to a wheelchair. She was confirmed paralyzed and had to live with this disability for life.
But despite this, she didn't feel that life had come to an end. She went ahead to found an organization called AMH Group that provides help to disabled people in Morocco, thousands of people. Through this organization, she reintegrates vulnerable people and those with disability into the society through services such as health, social enterprise, vocational training, etc.
She didn’t allow her disability to stop her neither did she carry about self-pity. She was determined to make gain out of her pain and has become resilient of several global awards whilst in a wheelchair.
Hear what she has to say.
I don't want to be seen as a disabled person. But if people see me that way, I don't want it to define me.
Her story is a classic example that nothing stand on your path to success, absolutely nothing. Not even a disability.
Be inspired!
