Make Way
Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882) was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet who led the transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society, and he disseminated his thoughts through dozens of published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States.

Ok, the quote for today is:
“The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.”
When we make a decision about what we are going to do things change around us.
The universe starts to line things up for us.
People often say, "Be careful what you ask for.".
It seems I find deeper meaning in that statement all the time.
Most of us ask for too little or are inadvertently asking for things we don't want.
I hear people say often that all they need is enough money for rent and food.
Source
You know what they get?
Just enough money for rent and food.
What happens next?
They get hurt or their car breaks down or something and they now have to decide between buying food, paying rent or fixing their car.
First of all, you should always ask for more than what you need.
The real point here though is that when that person asked for enough money to pay rent and food the universe lined up exactly that for them.
Only that much however because it's all they asked for.
This is where dream building comes in.
Source
Writing down everything you want, making a dream book or a dream board and seeing what it is you want all the time.
Always expanding on what you want is also very key here.
Dream building is about gaining a real understanding of what you really want so you can visualize it and go after it.
This way you don't sell yourself short by saying things like, "All I need is enough to survive on.".
This way when you get what you asked for it will actually be what you want.
Often we don't realize we are even asking but trust me...
You are asking for things every minute of every day.
Every little thing you are asking for is being lined up for you by the universe.
So be aware that you are asking and how you are asking.
Be sure that you are actually asking for what you want.
Remember,
“The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.”

I have found in my work guiding people can benefit from using examples of people who have succeeded. Wonderful post on Emerson and I will check out the rest here.

@michaeldavid - Yes money does not solve everything. Nor does mere money get us respect. Vision and direction is what gets noticed and respected. Great quote. Thanks Doc. Upvoted full

You bet he will!
A lot of what you talked about is in Tim Ferris (I don't know the spelling) 4 hour work week and needed this reminder.
I bet it was. There are many great teachers of these topics. :)
