Do you remember those moments when you look at your life thinking, “What a mess!” I know, we’ve all been there. Hardships are part of the process. But here is the question: What can you do, right now, to eliminate part of your struggle and make it better?

When I was younger, and personal development wasn’t my area of “expertise” (if I can call it like that), I thought that my life is and always will be the result of outside events. It took me a while to understand and accept the fact that the most powerful tool to control my life is right above my shoulders which is my mind. My thoughts, the power of my mindset creates reality, and if I don’t feel satisfied with my life, it is my responsibility to make it better.

Look, I am not trying to be Mrs. Smart Pants because as easy as it sounds, it is a difficult journey to take and I know that. But I want to share with you what I have done and continue doing to keep my head up while hitting rock bottom. Here are 6 ways how to enhance your mental strength when life seems to fall apart.

1# What is the solution?

What is the first thing you focus on when something negative happens in your life? Do you tend to see the dark side of it, thinking: “Oh man, I am screwed” or do you immediately trying to find a solution?

Remember one thing: what happened; it’s done. You can’t take it back; you can’t change it. The next step is to focus on what can you do to make it better, to save what’s possible or what you can learn and move on.

2# Find hope and belief

Find something that gives you positive energy and brings you peace of mind. Maybe it is a good book, audio, powerful exercise, visualization, meditation; you name it. There are one and million ways how you can make yourself feel better while dealing with difficulties in life or feeling that you aren’t in the right place.

Try out exercises which will strengthen your mindset like positive self-talk in front of the mirror, going over your journal with goals and visualizing that they are already in your life. These are exercise we hear or read about often, but as long as you are not practicing them, they have no meaning whatsoever.

3# Only positive people, please!

Another sort of support is to surround yourself with family or friends who love you and are honestly interested in you. I don’t mean those party friends you only see at the nightclub on Friday night. We all got these so-called “friends.” I mean people you can count on, ones who went through the biggest sh*t with you and still stand by your side.

4# Become a Go-Giver

You may be thinking right now: “So I lost my car, house, job, etc. My wife left me, and my child is mad at me, I have problems at my job, and I am supposed to give? From what, how?”

I hear you loud and clear but yes, give. There isn’t a better feeling of satisfaction than making someone else's life better. You don’t have to buy stuff or go above and beyond to do something. A simple smile or kind gesture as opening the door is enough. Just be kind, it always comes back and makes you a better person.

5# Action

Once you recharge your mind and boost up yourself with positive energy, it’s time to act. Action will help you to break through and make necessary changes to balance yourself and feel happy. If your life seems to fall apart, you don’t want just to stay there and look at it, do you?

Action and positive, empowered mindset can’t function separately. You have to use them together to get the best and fastest results in your life. Find the solution, make the plan and take an immediate action.

6# And now, breathe!

Anything that is happening in your life right now has some meaning or benefit even if you can’t see it. Since it already happened and you can’t take it back, the only thing which matters is your attitude towards this particular problem. It is your decision and your outcome.

Use every single step in this article and watch the change in your life. Most of the things are mind-oriented which you can apply right away to get results. Take a deep breath because your life isn’t over. You are just going through the test so keep moving.
