That was what one of the professors said when I attended the induction/oath taking ceremony of my seniors but now Doctors of optometry, on Monday.
He also made another statement that caught my attention ๐

That taught me that even if you can read and write, but you're not open to learning, relearning and unlearning you'll definitely be an illiterate in the nearest future because it's paramount that what you know now can't be enough to take you to the top in the future.
You must be open to learning everyday.
You must be eager to know what you have no idea of.
You must be humble enough to learn from any person no matter their age difference.
The world will leave you behind if you just stick to knowing how to read and write. There's much more in reading and writing than just the peripheral part of it.
Don't say that you've known enough. According to Onah Raphael- a young visionary man who got the highest cgpa in optometry department - 4.87. He said that Optometry clinical practice is just like "the more you look, the less you see".
The more you think you've learned enough, the more you'll figure out that you haven't even started learning.
So, keep seeking to know more!
PSS: Congratulations to the latest DOCTORS OF OPTOMETRY!๐ฅ
