I am not sure what post this is referencing, but if you used a direct link to the picture - I do not think any other source is needed. Did they ask for the image to be removed? If so they need to better understand how the internet works. Now, I'm not an attorney but there is very little legal recourse available to them. Copyright protects you from passing off their work as your own, but it is pretty clear from your blogs that you are not doing anything like that. You are including your own creative works alongside others - this is okay.
This said, I am against most forms of copyright entirely. Harboring govermental regulation over the use of ideas/creative work is very dangerous. The US patent and copyright law is a perfect example.
You handled this situation very well.
It's this one with the mini sculpture: https://steemit.com/life/@kevinwong/building-a-better-tomorrow
And nope, no direct link. Just some old images I've saved since a long time ago. Yup, I really don't mind removing at all and I'd admit a lack of courtesy on crediting whatever images I put up. But there's just no way to edit any old posts here..
I think you handled it fine.
That's reassuring. I often read that legal cases about IP could really get blown out of proportion.
It sure can get messy, don't take my word. This is a whole legal grey area, it pretty much all comes down to your lawyer.
Point. Up voted!
If you too like my articles, please donate for my education, I am an engineering student, studying on loan and living in aided facilities. BTC address: 1Lop6vbYTDUcVrUtDTuZ6adcAoDydAKJS4
What/where are you studying?
I am a student too so don't be expecting much in the form of BTC but I will certainly participate on your posts!
Thanks a lot mate. Just help me with the loan, once I am done with the banks I won't look back :)
I'll too see to your posts.
You know that no matter what, spamming is the least effective thing to do, right? Which engineering sub are u going through?
