What are some interesting/unique ways that you've tried to make money outside of your normal 9-5 job? Here are a few examples of things that I've done.
Mystery shopping: Get paid to review a movie theater or go to eat at a restaurant. There's not too much money in it, but if you want to go out for the night for free, it's not a bad gig.
Micro-tasks: I like using Mturk.com since it has activities for pretty much anyone and there's always some work on there. They have jobs transcribing, taking surveys, and testing out mobile apps. It's good for people who are willing to do a variety of different tasks.
Acting: I've done a few acting gigs. I found my very first gig on craigslist.com. Backstage.com is an excellent site to use if you don't mind paying to subscribe and you want to seriously pursue acting.
Investing: Investing is the best way to earn long-term income. I primarily use vanguard.com because they offer a wide array of low-cost ETF's that can give you a relatively safe income stream.
Writing: I tried my hand at writing a self-published book through amazon.com. A personal note, I'm not a particularly strong writer, so this source of income didn't really work for me, but I still consider it a worthwhile experience. Here's a link to my ebook for anyone who is interested in purchasing it. https://www.amazon.com/Creeps-Brian-Taylor-ebook/dp/B012TV30UO
