Today I am back with the another blog on some interesting facts of Fiji which will surely blow your mind. so without wasting time let's get started.
This country is a home of many different kinds of people. Fiji consists of 333 Islands from which about 110 are inhabited. The two major islands Viti levu and when you're Lego accounts nearly 87% of the population of almost 893,000.
Fiji seaside is home to over 1500 species of sea life.
The highest point in Fiji is MT Tomanivi which is approximately 4500 feet from ground.
As we know that in Fiji large number of natural and manmade breathtaking structures are present So nearly 400k to 500k tourist come annually.
The most interesting fact is Fiji has 28 airports but only 4 of them have paved runways.
The literacy rate among adults is almost 94% !
In early 1874 to 1970 Fiji was under British Colony but on 10 October 1978 become independent and now it is the member of British Commonwealth of nations.
The largest Hindu temple in Fiji is the colorful Sri Shiva Subramanya Temple which is one of the major landmark in Nadi.
The main religion of the Fiji's people is Christian followed by Hindu and Roman Catholic.
The people lives in Fiji are commonly called Fijians they are very friendly and hospitable people.
As in America New Year is celebrated with the lightning on Times Square building covered with billboards but here in Fiji women in the villages join the traditional game called "veicaqe moli" or "kick the orange" to celebrate new year.
As once this country was under British rule so the image of England queen is included in colorful banknotes and coins of the country.
In some villages only chiefs and other major citizens can wear hat and sunglasses !!
The most interesting fact is:
Fiji is located right on the International Date Line in Taveuni there is a spot where you can stand with one foot in the current date and your other food in the previous date.
