My name is Georgen Galanton, I am 26 years old and I am currently living in Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela. From my parents' marriage there are two of us, my sister and I who am the oldest, plus I have a half-brother who is older than me, son of my father in his previous marriage. I have mixed feelings, because although I am excited to share my experiences and the road I have traveled to become the person I am now, I am also a little afraid, since I had never talked about me in such a public way. But well, here we are, so sit back, get some popcorn and enjoy the rest of this story.
My accomplishments
Since I was a child I have not been outstanding academically, at least since preschool until I graduated from high school was like that, but I compensated my low grades with music, oh yes, music, the best there is, thanks to the school where I studied I could participate in many singing festivals, both regional and national, I managed to win many of these festivals, gaining experience in that wonderful world. These successes (and failures too, of course) shaped part of the person I am now, and although at the moment I am somewhat distant from music, I do not want to take that musical path again, because I learned over time that those awards and trophies are more than papers and metals, they are a part of me, They are effort, dedication, feelings poured and expressed through songs, songs that today I sing and fill me with nostalgia, they take me back in time to that little boy, who even with fear sang in front of many people, and from the second song he was able to eat the world.
Those moments motivated me, led me to fight for more opportunities, that's why I spread my wings, to find out how far I can go and what I can be capable of. With that in mind, I decided to expand my areas of knowledge, and so far I have been able to take different types of courses, such as: escort and protection of personalities, computer science, optometry, rescue and first aid, clinical laboratory technician, among others.
With all these achievements, I realized how fortunate I have been. For each certificate I acquired contains a story of my resilience and hard work. Those certificates are not just papers; they are people, meaningful adventures and memories that continued to shape me into who I am today.
My hobbies
On the other hand, I am not just my accomplishments, I am also the interests and likes I have in life. As I write this I realize that I feel good through writing, sometime or other I write poems or rhymes, anything inspires me and I end up writing some lines, but I had never written about me before, it feels good, I feel comfortable doing it. As for that, writing also requires vocabulary and creativity, which leads me to my love for reading, books contain infinite worlds and exploring them is amazing, besides, they allow me to improve my skills, especially now that I'm going to share with you all my experiences.
Apart from that, I also love sports, especially baseball, volleyball and extreme sports. I also love movies and series, especially horror, action and science fiction.
Current events
Moving on to another topic, when I was a kid, I wanted to be an adult (now it's the opposite hehe), I thought that when I grew up I would have my life solved. I thought that somehow I could live comfortably, buy and do whatever I wanted, however, it is not like that, growing up entails having responsibilities and support ourselves better economically, which in my country today is not so easy for most people.
However, I feel good, I do not complain about my life, I am married to a beautiful woman, we love each other and we idealize the perfect future for us together.
I believe that life still has many surprises in store for us, both as a couple and as individuals, the important thing to keep in mind is that life is nothing more than a journey and it is up to us whether we enjoy it or not.
With everything that has happened to me, good and bad, I have managed to learn and grow, everything that happens to us leaves us lessons, especially when something bad happens to us, and we should always see our environment with the best eyes, in the most positive way we can. For example, my current job (clinical laboratory technician), has taught me to see things from the point of view of others, it has taught me to be more empathetic since I have direct contact with patients and their families in the hospital where I work, all the experiences I live daily have improved my understanding of life, it also puts your feet on the ground and makes you see how everything can fall apart very quickly, but it is the cycle of life, and you have to respect it. Everything can be difficult, but I know that at the end of the day everything happens for a reason and we all have a destiny to fulfill. There may be things that don't go as you plan, but I firmly believe that if it's for you one way or another that it will come, no matter how long it takes and how hopeless it may seem.
My contributions to the hive and who told me about this platform
Taking the risk of joining Hive is a big challenge, I have no experience writing, let alone about me, but I will try to make sure my strengths can help the organization. Other than that, I have always thought of looking for skill improvement, and this would be the best platform to improve my writing. I am hopeful that this will give me the opportunity to maybe discover a new talent, grow my passion, and see how much I can accomplish. I was not really told directly about this platform, but a friend who is also a co-worker, she was telling me what they were telling her and also encouraged me to start participating, and well, here I am.
