My Introduction

in #introduce8 years ago

I'm new. I'm curious about the ideology around this site and excited at the potential.
About me, I am a former corporate Attorney that could not live any longer being paid to do things I felt were immoral. I am now a graphic designer and photographer. I'm also living on the edge of poverty in the Southern US which has enlightened me to so many things. I've become very outspoken, enraged at the poverty and use of religion as control here and the general ignorance of the rest of the nation to this side of life. I'm part Native American and have found State recognized Native nations here that have welcomed me. I'm learning about Native healing and medicine and am using it to cure a chronic disease I have. It is working. I also write for a national blues magazine and work to promote blues music, especially those bringing a new message with the old music. We are in a time of social revolution. I'm ready. I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts, art and writings on this site. I love the idea of steemit and am very anxious to explore it a bit. Thank you.

I think there have always been funny women, from Carol Burnett to Joan Rivers. When the audience sees a woman, they innately know she's worked twice as hard to get there, she's had to prove that she can be the leader, first, and then be funny on top of it. She has to emit a confidence that she's in control.
