My name is Angus. I'm an animator and film-maker and I love bands and making music videos. I've been making videos for bands since the 1980's. I was born in the Sixties to an Italian Dad and an Australian Mum and my teenage years were the late 70's and early 80's. It's shocking to realise how long ago that was but it's also been really cool to have been able to witness all the changes in the world over the last thirty years. My first film job was for a company in Sydney that did Japanese car commercials and the only way the producer could send his budget was via telex! The fax machine wasn't in common use and I still remember him being amazed when the office got its first fax and he could send a handwritten document. It seemed like such a magical thing! And look at us now all connecting over the internet and not thinking twice about sharing video and data and building a new world. No-one could have predicted or imagined this.
This is my very first music video that I shot for Lucinda Seiger when I was a Runner at a film company in London. I had bought an old Bolex 16mm camera and a few rolls of film and we had literally no budget. I found it online recently and it's great to show it here because it's kind of my origin story in terms of shooting videos!
Lucinda Seiger "Windy Night"
I then spent many years at different production companies and produced and directed videos for a lot of major label artists including producing Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn". Other artists and bands I've made videos for are Sia, Dave Stewart, Gene, Rialto, Deni Hines, Christian Fry, Bellatrix, Dikta, Symposium amongst many others. And I've worked extensively both on the major label side and on the Indie side. For a great many years I was also a producer of TVC's in London for Tony Kaye Films and for Patricia Murphy Films and I was signed to Michael Seresin & Allan Parker's company BFCS as a Director for a few years as well.
I moved back to Australia with my wife and newborn Daughter in 2008 and have since worked in Sydney and the Gold Coast as a director & producer on lots of different jobs. So I'm an active film-maker, and at heart have always been an Indie film-maker.
I'm really excited about being on Steemit and I would love to meet and collaborate with Artists and Musicians and other film-makers.
These are a few sample videos of some of my music videos. There's a lot more work on my main website if you want to check out other videos.

Dikta "Breaking the Waves" (Icelandic Band)
Rialto "Summer's Over"
Deni Hines "Joy"
I'm really excited to meet and share ideas with fellow artists, game devs, storytellers, film-makers, musicians, philosophers, etc. If you want to collaborate on any interesting projects then please feel free to get in touch.
I'm going to be doing a free series here on Steemit on how to use Blender and Zbrush together to create AAA Game Assets, and I'm also going to be sharing a lot of ideas and tips about film-making and photography as it relates to doing Band and Artist photos.
I'm going to try and post some kind of creative tutorial every day, work permitting, and I'm also going to share and give away a lot of different photography and design assets. I've got tons of images and assets that I own sitting on hard drives from old jobs and it's time to share a lot of those and to let other people use them in their work.
I really hope Steemit becomes a great creative hub for all of us and becomes a great place to share ideas and incubate cool projects.
I'm so excited about the possibility to connect and work with fellow artists from around the world! In my own journey from my first job in the eighties to here there has just been so much monumental change in technology that it makes my head spin.
My Grandmother in Rome once told me before she died that when she had moved into her apartment as a young woman who had just gotten married it was surrounded by fields and there were no cars. Just horses and carts and lots of bicycles. In her ninety years she saw her surroundings (Parioli) become a densely populated City suburb. And a hundred years before that my Australian ancestors were sailing merchandise between Canada and Australia.
It's really sobering to see how fast our connections and technology are accelerating. Thirty years ago I remember clearly when there was no internet and film had to be developed and printed. Today a week doesn't go by where I don't work on or transfer gigabytes of data, or consume huge amounts of information on YouTube and other places.
We really are on the brink of something extraordinary, and I'm so glad I found this place and that I will be able to contribute creatively to what happens here. Because I think what happens on this platform will be a very powerful generator of what our futures can be.
Thanks for reading my profile. Much Love to you all!
Angus.
Welcome to Steemit @anusg!

Im going to check out your stuff -( Im stuck with crappy wireless internet so its difficult to watch videos) so it might me a little bit.
Thats a cool story about your Grandmother in Italy! one place I want to get to someday.
Great to meet you!
Likewise Gyro, nice to make friends on a constructive platform.
Welcome to Steem @angusg I have upvoted and sent you a tip
thank you !
Hey Angus. You've done some awsome stuff! Really beautiful. I really like your work and how your artistic eye works! Beautiful. Would be awsome to collaborate one day.
Let's not make it one day. Let's make it one day soon. Even if we don't get the video done for a bit there's always a tuning in process. I love your songs too! Send me through any tracks you want me to listen to and I'm always happy to write you up an idea or two on how I see it visually. My website is on my profile and there's an email form that I get directly, so send me an email anytime you want to listen to something and I'll get it straight away.
Maybe a short film starring you and your beautiful wife that we could write as a mini film script and I could help design some shots for you to shoot and show you how to setup the camera and lighting. Could all be done remotely or as a joint blog on Steemit and we can send each other files.
I'm about to do a video as an open source project for an artist I've shot a lot of a few videos for over the years and I got the label to agree to me doing everything as a steemit blog and I'm going to be sharing a lot of tips, assets and resources that anyone else can use too. It's going to be really interesting for other musicians to follow to see the process. That will be ongoing over the next couple of months which gives me the chance to just focus on being on steemit. I'm really liking it at the moment.
I'd love to do a video with a fellow Steemit artist at the same time. I joined about the same week you did and also the singer @derosnec (I think I got that right) so I like the idea of doing a collaboration with a fellow steem friend who joined the same time. That feels like a fun thing to do.

Hi Firepower, thank you! I went to log into steemit.chat but there were no login instructions regarding which password or key I need to use and I'm a bit unsure about what is my Steemit password, is that my normal posting Key or do I need to use my private key to login to steemit.chat? I didn't want to put in the wrong one. Sorry to ask. I read a few articles including this one but I still wasn't sure which password I needed to use at the end of it.
