So there's Minnow, Dolphins, and Whales. All new kids are considered minnows- we're small fish in the big Steemit sea. Whales are the top of the Steemit food chain- one Whale upvote on your post can give you hundreds of dollars. A Dolphin is in the middle.
Are you registered on DiscordApp chat yet? If not, do so immediately. There are plenty of chat rooms in Discord for any niche- there's radio, a fiction workshop, and many niche specific projects, you can promote your posts and get to know fellow Steemians and find followers, and there is a ton of help- PAL room, or Peace Abundance and Liberty is the best place to start. Lots of cool cats to provide minnow support :)
Steemit Chat is another chat room, but once you go Discord you won't go back- yes, it's that good :)

Ah yeah I use discord! Ill get on it! Thank you for explaining all of this. A lot of the terminology is familiar to me from when I used to troll BTC gambling sites.
