I want to continue to introduce myself to the Steemit community. I have a 2.5 year old son named Jacob, who I absolutely adore. I lost my father 3 years ago to cancer, but he modeled for me how a man should love and care for his family. If you are doing the math, you can sadly see that my father passed before he got to meet his grandson/ and visa versa.
Though my dad may not be here physically, I strive to continue my his legacy of being a strong family leader. This is in all areas – faith, love, support, and money. My dad taught me about hard work and how to earn things in life.
This last weekend, I had my son help wash the family cars. No, it’s not about Jacob doing his fair share around the house (at this point), it is about doing as my dad did and modeling how we need to take care of things so they last longer, being frugal, and getting outside/exercise. Having Jacob help probably made the process longer, but it is an investment in time and parenting that I find is well worth it.
Thank you for reading my new friends,
Brian
Treasure the moments you have--your son will be grown up in the blink of an eye! He's watching your every move--there's a great country-western song about that (
Investments like this don't pay off in $'s, the rewards are greater! As a country fan... I like that song. As a dad, I love that song. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for sharing with the community your story about LOVE and family
