Hi Steemit community :)
I am Lojayna a 28 year old Egyptian who lives in Germany.
During the past couple of years i was between Germany and Egypt for a variety of reasons including travelling, studying and working in both countries. I did my masters degree in University of Mannheim in Germany and ever since decided to pursue my professional career in Germany.
By now i can say i get both cultures and i love the idea of being here in Germany at the moment. I got to meet a lot of different nationalities and understand so many cultures. i feel blessed =)
I love travelling, meeting new people reading and staying in bed on sundays :D:D like most of everyone else here i assume ... ;)
I have seen plenty of #introduceyourself posts and i am not really sure how it's done so i choose to share some facts about Egypt and mention bits about me in the middle ;) hope you enjoy the post :)
What i want to share actually is a bit about the "EGYPTIAN CULTURE" :D
Unlike what everyone might think, we do not ride CAMELS for transportation actually we have that invention called cars :D ;)
The traffic in Egypt, specially Cairo, where i come from, is insane ! i mean you can take 1 hour to go to a place that could under normal circumstances take 15 minutes .... Simply due to traffic, so if you plan to visit Cairo and you are punctual just consider your appointment is always 1 hour earlier ... i do that always.
I have to say riding a bicycle in Egypt is not that common like in Germany i think mainly due to the very hot weather in Cairo as well as the fact that the roads are not well equipped for bicycles. However some groups team up on friday morning (weekend in Egypt) when the roads are kind of empty and cycle as a sport, i have to say it is refreshing doing that :)
Egyptians LOVE LOVE LOVE Food :D i mean seriously we do .. we have have a famous phrase that says " The road to the man's heart is his stomach" not sure if that saying is in other countries or not .. but most Egyptians always joke about this ... sadly i am not a great cooker but i do appreciate tasty food :D
I always get invited by friends on really tasty food to be honest i should learn one day (A)
So let me introduce you to famous EGYPTIAN FOOD... YUMMYYYYYYYY !!!
MOLOKHIA
I am not the best person to talk about molokhia ( i will mention why in a moment) but seriously everyone i know from most nationalities love it ! it is like a soup that has this genuine taste that EVERYONE except me loves :D this is why i did not want to talk about it but well i had to mention it they say it's THE BEST :D
KOSHARI
Now if you are on a diet and want to lose weight ... STAY AWAY !
this amazing dish if full of carbs (Pasta, lentil, rice, crispy onions and a special sauce that is usually spicy)
But seriously it is AMAZING, the best ever and very well known and respected by Egyptians.
You gotta try it.

TAAMEYA (falafel) & FOUL

I think there is no need to speak about TAAMEYA or as other nationalities call it falafel.
an important difference about the the Egyptian Taameya from all the rest is that it is made with beans (Foul, in the above picture) which gives it a special and delicious taste of its own
I could go on and on about the food in Egypt but it's an introduce myself post.
I could make another one only at food if you guys would like that :D
The post already is long so i hope i gave you a small glimpse about Egypt and that you liked what you read.
I would love to give advices about travelling and nice locations to visit in Egypt

No offence but egyptians destroyed my trip to egypt. I was harassed, insulted, pursued, intimidated... Those people have no respect to a hand which is feeding them. I felt very insecure in egypt. It is a beautiful country with amazing places to see. But too dangerous for foreigners especially if there is a woman in your company.
I'd love to come back, but people have to change their mentality....
