Introducing myself to the Hive community

Hello Hive community!

I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself with my FIRST ever blog, on Hive or anywhere else. I plan to share with the world my love and appreciation I have for the beautiful island I live on, Mallorca, which is one of the Balearic Islands, located off the east coast of Spain. Other topics which will likely be covered in future posts include my new found passion for cooking, and last but not least, my experiences being the parent of a tiny human. Life is not always easy, but I believe we are never given more than we can handle.

I am Rebecca, a 35-year-old Brit who is fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Mallorca. I have been here longer than I was in the UK, 19 years to be exact, and really appreciate the mild winters and long hot summers.

I am recently divorced, which I have to say is something I never ever imagined I would be writing, and a mother to an amazing 7-year-old boy who is probably the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met.

I am also the proud owner of a dog and two hamsters, who will likely get their fair share of attention in future blogs. I’m fluent in Spanish and also speak German and Catalan, although not as well as I do Spanish.

Due to being previously married to a chef, cooking never really interested me too much - he was always happy to cook, but since the breakup, cooking has become a new passion of mine. There is another reason behind this, but I will get into that another time, my new favourite type of food to cook is Bolivian food - who would have guessed an English girl from Cheshire would be cooking traditional Bolivian cuisine, but here I am.

After being an entertainer for 12 years in a wonderful little family complex (I have so many stories to share), I made a drastic lifestyle change and started working for a local law firm, where I have been for 4 years now. It was a shock to the system of course, going from playing games all day, dancing, presenting shows all day, to working behind a desk, but I have learned so much and feel truly grateful for the experience. I have the most amazing colleagues and we have become the best work family.

I will be sharing on my blog a little insight into life here in Mallorca, the ups and downs of being a single parent household and my cooking adventures. I have travelled the world and I can honestly say I have never found anywhere I love as much as this island; I thank the universe every day that I get to wake up each day next to the sea, I am truly blessed, and look forward to sharing my world with you all.

Thank you for taking the time to read my first entry on the Hive blockchain. I have much to learn with regards to blockchain and cryptocurrency, but think I may have found the right place to do so.
