I'm Rosemary. I'm not sure I completely understand what I am doing here but my fabulous friend Yael @leurbanexplorer suggested it and I trust her. No doubt she will keep me on the straight and narrow, so hi everyone, looking forward to reading and learning lots, writing some and getting to know you all.
So, who am I? A couple of vignettes :
I was born in the same village as Tarzan, the 'real' Tarzan not the Disney one. If anyone knows where I am talking about please let me know in the comments but for the rest of you, sorry folks, Disney fibbed!
I am an eldest child, this is a good thing because if I had an older sibling there would have been some difficult conversations with my mother when I was a teenager and she was lecturing me on sex before marriage being a bad thing.... as I was born 9 months and 1 hour after my parents were married. As it was she got to take the high ground.
This is me.
I don't look French. But I do speak it, without too much of an English accent.
I hate the idea that one day I might berate myself with the worst phrase in the English language, "if only..." so I keep turning my life upside down.
I loved living and working in London.
Loved it even more in Hong Kong.
Hubby-to-be was in Paris so I stayed in Hong Kong for a couple more years and when I finally arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport I had an attitude problem!
I've lived and worked in Paris since 1996. I REALLY didn't like it AT ALL, for years.
So I went to live and work in Bangladesh, as you do, well it's the kind of decision I make, it seemed logical at the time.
I LOVED Bangladesh. Bangladesh will change anyone's attitude problem.
Every time I've moved I worked in a field I didn't know. Now, again, I don't do anything I ever did before.
For 5 years I've run a B&B / apartment for people visiting Paris. I thought I was just doing it to pay my mortgages. It turns out people love me! This is odd because I'm not keen on most people. And I don't cook.
I also am an Image Consultant. I thought I trained for myself, because I was totally confused about what colours and styles to wear, having started going grey prematurely. I thought everybody else in Paris knew how to be stylish. However it seems I was wrong. Even in Paris there are people who want to feel more confident about how they dress. Happily I seem to be able to explain that well.
Well thanks for reading this far. I have an odd sense of humour which I have reined in for this post but it's likely to find it's mouthpiece in my posts about Paris, parisian life, stories about my gorgeous B&B guests, my style tips, the building of a new Jurassic Park next door to me... and much more.
