I've been blogging online about business, dating, free speech, Crypto, for many years now.
Writing has always been an outlet for me. A way to process things going on in the world. To deal with them the best I can.
And I was very fortunate that I was able to turn it into a real business. That it allowed me to travel, move abroad, and see much of the world in the last few years
However, I'd classify myself as someone who thinks...well, tends to question what is told to everybody in the mainstream media and the news.
For example, I think that instead of popping endless amounts of prescription medicines - people should instead go outside, get some fresh air and sunshine, eat some fresh fruits and veggies, and maybe even pick up a few heavy weights.
I believe that people should be allowed to make their own choices about their health, and they should not be "mandated" to do anything to provide a basic life for their family.
I believe that people have rights to privacy and that their governments should not be able to whimsically pass "laws" to override this basic right.
I do not believe that the tax tyrants should be able to debit somebody's account because they have been deemed guilty before proven innocent.
Many people would classify these opinions as perfectly fine. But in today's cancel-culture world, these types of opinions are not allowed to be heard. Or at a minimum, they are kept within an echo chamber.
I have a lot of opinions and works I've published over the years, much of which has been pushed down by Google, censored or shadow-banned by Twitter, or outright banned (repeatedly) on Facebook. It got to the point it was so out of hand, I simply decided to walk away from writing.
I walked away from a blog that received over 1 million unique visitors for many years running. I walked away from a dedicated Twitter audience. And I walked away from thousands of customers who had purchased books or other products from me.
I did it, because I saw little to no hope for free speech or hell, even free thought in the world.
I did it, because I did not see a way to "win".
I asked myself, what exactly is the point of continuing to try to share my opinions with the world, if the oligarchs who rule the tech companies can silence me with the press of one button?
What good is it to try to share what's going on in the world, if the history can then be erased...or worse, can simply be edited to better go along with the "chosen" narrative.
Simply put, I decided it was not worth the time to continue this.
That was, until about a month ago.
When I met someone who has been deep inside this community since nearly the beginning.
I hadn't heard of this place.
I didn't realize how far decentralization had come. I didn't realize that there were social platforms, communities, blogs, video platforms - and more - that are at the point they cannot just be erased from history with the snap of one finger in Silicon Valley.
Actually making money from writing? I don't care about that as much anymore.
What I care about is that history must be preserved. Truths must be spoken. And the few powerful should not be able to shut down the many because it goes against what they believe.
Freedoms must be consistently fought for. They must be defended. They may be given at birth, but if you fail to fight for them, you will lose them. And the future generations will be worse off.
Until recently, I did not see anything in the world that was a path towards getting the freedoms we've lost back.
But as I look around here, I am starting to see some hope.
So here I am.
