My name is Caren, I'm a photographer and traveler born and raised in California. As an LA native I enjoy taco tuesday, working my butt off to pay rent and feel most excited when I'm creating. In future posts i'd love to share with you about the topics of travel, finding meaningful work and eating your way to happiness.
I am always fascinated when I meet someone that has lived most of their life in the same house. I grew up in a family were moving frequently is a well respected tradition. Every couple of years my mom decided it was time for a change. She was constantly looking for new opportunities, a better job, a better school for us, maybe new air to breathe. The last time I counted we had moved 17 times. In the last 4 years alone I have lived in 6 different apartments in 4 different cities. Long drives, packing and unpacking, buying new kitchen utensils and letting go of all of my belongings have been invaluable experiences. Lately I've been yearning to build a space that is truly mine, that isn't temporary, a place where every object is selected and wanted. A place to hang the two white hammocks that i've bought in Mexico. A light filled space with high ceilings and a small closet that contains my newly curated wardrobe.
Now that i've shared with you my yearning for a nest, i'd like to talk about another place that feels even better than home. The beach is my wonderland. Taking a cold swim in the pacific during sunset is the most satisfying, recharging experience. When I'm not behind the lens, sometimes you'll find me in front of it.
