Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing well and good. I am Abrar Fahim. And I am new to the whole Hive platform. As is customary, I should introduce myself. I am studying computer science at a university in Bangladesh. I am Bangladeshi by origin. As I am studying computer science, I have always had an interest in this field. Thought I would do better in this than traditional majors over pure subjects or electronics hardware.
My introduction to cryptocurrency was like everyone else, I heard about Bitcoin first. Then upon further research I found there are other coins which work almost the same way as Bitcoin (Note : I'm still a teen back then). Then as being in a third world country, I thought I'd never be able to get in this space. Years went by and this idea slowly went out of my head. Then during the pandemic I had a lot of free time and I started googling here and there again. I learned stuff about small trades and some other terms of the blockchain and gained more interest in this field.
Hence, I fixed on studying computer science. So it can be said that cryptocurrency and blockchain influenced my decision. I enjoy my free time watching documentaries on YouTube or any other informative media which I can find. Or I just play single player games on Windows. I'm not much of a multiplayer person, more of a story mode player. Although I still need to buy a good GPU to run those AAA games smoothly. But recently now that university is a thing, I barely get that much free time. Since I have learned coding, I have got a renewed interest in problem solving. Recently I'm learning web development basics. I'm starting out with JavaScript.
I have a short-term goal to at least learn one stack fully. I want at least a few projects to show for, when I graduate. If any of you reading, are from Bangladesh, you'll know how hard it is to get a job in this country. Apart from all this, I have much interest in economics, both domestic and global, Also geopolitics. I also like to poke around history and wars and the politics behind significant events. So most of my YouTube feed is full of such videos. I am also an avid fan of football. I watch a lot of games and I like to keep tabs on the latest news. I also keep interest in learning all the teams tactics and how they play. This helps me understand a game even better, and the 4D chess the managers play on the touchline. Compared to most people around us, I really despise shorts and tiktoks and reels. As they are really not my type and they don't provide a proper experience in my opinion. I am also into some photography too. I like to take photos of different architectures and natural scenes. Over on my Instagram you will be able to see some of my amateur photography. It’s more of a side hobby. I am adding a few photos below to show how mediocre they are.
There isn’t really much to talk about myself at this point of life. Although I am working to achieve more. And speaking of Hive, I am really hopeful about bringing something to the table for this community.
